A few weeks after the start of the season, Southern Utah University star gymnast Niya Randolph has launched her own energy drink called Ten Point 0. She and her father Byron were giving out free samples of the beverage in the Sharwan Smith Student Center on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
The drink’s name is a play on a 10.000 in gymnastics, a perfect score. The Randolphs leaned into the gymnastics branding, with each can featuring a silhouette of a gymnast in the middle of a routine.
Byron Randolph couldn’t have been more excited to contribute to his daughter’s success. The 20-year veteran of the Air Force said they are planning on selling the drink around campus at places like the library and the bookstore.

“I support my daughter and SUU gymnastics to the max,” he said. “We’ve been working on this product for about six months as an opportunity to showcase Niya’s ability. This should hopefully get her a little bit more recognition.”
The Randolphs and the Ten Point 0 website were quick to mention the health benefits of their new drink, such as its lack of sugar, low sodium content and low calorie level. With 116 milligrams, Ten Point 0 contains less caffeine than most popular energy drinks.
Randolph is at least the second SUU student to launch her own drink product for athletes. SUU alumnus Hayden Wadsworth is the CEO of HydroJug, a company that makes water jugs for fitness use.
Niya, who is studying to be a nurse, is shaping up to have another stellar season. She’s placed first in the all-around in both SUU meets this season.
The gymnastics team’s next event will be against San José State University and Texas Woman’s University. The meet will be on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. in San José, California, and can be streamed live on the Mountain West Network.
