SUU News Movie Review: “Zootopia 2” brings back a childhood delight

Disney animation, “Zootopia 2,” was released on Nov. 26, 2025. The film continued the story of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde after their first adventure in 2016.

The film rightfully earned a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and surpassed $600 million at the global box office, a record-breaking opening weekend.

“Zootopia 2” was fun, thrilling and absolutely hilarious throughout. While the film is geared towards kids, it includes its fair share of adult humor to meet the needs of the original “Zootopia” audience from 2016.

“And in every way where it matters, “Zootopia 2” delivers a boldly heartfelt statement with stunning animation to fill every scene with something to marvel at,” said critic Sophia Gissane.

The sequel was filled with nostalgia from the first movie, including character cameos and comedic references. All of the voice acting was top-tier, with new appearances from Ke Huy Quan and Patrick Warburton as two beloved characters.

Overall, “Zootopia 2” delivered a laugh-out-loud and engaging performance. I personally found it to be better than the original, and despite the intended audience age, it was my favorite movie I’ve seen this year.

“Zootopia 2” will be available in theaters until further notice and streamed on Disney+ in 2026. Find more movie reviews here on suunews.net
