Southern Utah University will welcome the holiday season with a special all-alumni production of A Charlie Brown Christmas in celebration of the 60th anniversary of Charles M. Schulz’s holiday classic. The production will bring together former SUU students from the College of Performing and Visual Arts to recreate this famous story on Dec. 4 and 6.
All performances will be free and open to the public. Faculty, staff and their families are invited to attend the Dec. 4 performance at 6 p.m., followed by an 8 p.m. showing for SUU students. Community members, alumni and friends may attend performances on Dec. 6 at 2 and 8 p.m.
The show is presented by Concord Theatricals on behalf of Tams-Witmark LLC and will remain faithful to the classic animated television special. Each 30-minute performance will invite audiences of all ages to reconnect with Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang as they search for the true meaning of Christmas.
Along with the Christmas spirit, SUU school spirit will also take on the production. Alumni will return to campus from New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and more to share their talents and reconnect with a story rooted in friendship, kindness and joy. Additional features will introduce the alumni performers, musicians and crew members who helped bring the production to life. A dedication that embodies the saying “ Once a T-Bird, Always a T-Bird.”
General admission tickets are required and may be picked up at the Southern Utah Museum of Art or the SUU Alumni Office in the Hunter Alumni Center during regular business hours. Seats will be held for ticket holders until 10 minutes prior to each performance and remaining seats will be released to standby guests.
