Cedar City may be a quaint town, but it is full of local food spots that keep people returning for more. Whether you’re in the mood for a coffee, brunch or dinner with friends, these local restaurants have stolen the hearts of Southern Utah University’s hometown.
A city staple, The Grind Coffeehouse is known for its cozy, study-spot feel and its various drinks. The Mexican Mocha and chai lattes are customer favorites and breakfast bagel sandwiches make studying more enjoyable.
“This cozy Cedar gem is the perfect spot to grab a coffee, meet with friends and study,” said SUU student Maria Ferguson. “It has the best atmosphere and tasty treats.”
Another popular stop is Bristlecone Company. It is a must-visit spot in Cedar City with a combined coffee shop and yoga studio.

For burger enthusiasts, Cedar Shakes is known for its smash burgers, fries and milkshakes served with a simple, classic menu.
When craving a cozy pub with modern comfort food, look no further than The Pub Spirits + Craft Kitchen. Awarded “Restaurant of the Year” by the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce, the Pub’s fresh, local ingredients and wide selection of craft beers, wines and spirits have made it a popular choice.
Lastly, Centro Woodfired Pizza is famous for smoky thin-crust pizza and for its folded pizza dessert, the Nutella Piegato. High-quality ingredients and a friendly atmosphere make this pizza joint a must-try in town.
From early mornings at The Grind to late-night dinners at Centro’s, Cedar City’s restaurants provide various cuisines and gatherings, making small-town living tastier than ever.
