Halloween came early this year on Cedar City’s Main Street

Historic Downtown Cedar City hosted its annual Hocus Focus event on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 3-6 p.m. Children and their families lined Downtown Main Street in their most spooktacular costumes.

The route started at the State Office Building and continued throughout the downtown area.

Trick-or-treaters walked to participating businesses where they received candy, prizes, food samples and even fresh apples from Lin’s Grocery Store. Some participants also had mini games or a spook alley set up within their business.

Hocus Focus provided a fall activity for local families and a way for many of these businesses to make a name for themselves in the community.

“I love working at Cedar Music because I love community events like Hocus Focus, and I love seeing kids and the community come together,” said Olivia Brown, a store employee.

Historic Downtown Cedar City hosts multiple holiday events throughout the year. Next up, the annual lighting ceremony will take place on Saturday, Nov. 29, where residents can see Main Street shine bright for the Christmas season followed by fireworks and hot cocoa.
