Southern Utah University has made it through the first full month of school, which means Halloween and cooler fall days are right around the corner. The feeling of the fall season has been pushed back a bit this year, but next week should see a slate of temperatures reaching below 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
This week is expected to be sunny without much cloud cover. Despite the lower temperatures, the UV index will be around 6.0 each day, so sunscreen is still worth it if you plan to spend time outdoors.
Wind speeds are forecasted for around 10-15 mph each day. Considering the high from Monday, Oct. 6 through Wednesday, Oct. 8 won’t be more than 65 degrees Fahrenheit, students may consider a jacket or long-sleeve shirts, especially for morning and evening.
The low temperatures are forecasted for 40 degrees Fahrenheit and lower. Now is the time of year to cuddle up indoors with baked treats and warm beverages.
There will be a 15% change of precipitation over the week. While the percentage is not high, keeping a small umbrella handy is an easy way to stay prepared.
Monday, Oct. 6 and Tuesday, Oct. 7 will be the most humid, with humidity levels reaching almost 50%.
It is a great time of year to visit a local pumpkin patch or corn maze. Be on the lookout for upcoming weather updates here on suunews.net.
