Freshly renovated and ready to welcome all T-Birds, Southern Utah University’s campus store held its official grand opening on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event was open to the entire community, inviting attendees to explore the new space and celebrate school spirit.
Upon arrival, free cookies and drinks were provided for customers while they looked at the latest products. With a line stretching past the staircase of the Sharwan Smith Student Center, the store filled its capacity.
Customers chatted about their purchases while others phoned family members for advice on what to buy. Charlie and Nikki Sanderson, a mother-daughter duo, left the bookstore with two large bags of merchandise.

“It was insane today, but it was cool,” said Charlie. “I haven’t seen the bookstore since I was really little, so all redone, it looks nice.”
All items in the store were 20% off and shoppers had the opportunity to enter a raffle to try to win a pair of third-generation AirPods, four $50 gift cards and a bicycle offered by Pepsi.
Nikki added, “It was pretty cheap for all that we got. It wasn’t bad.”
Set across two floors, SUU’s campus store is the place to go to find the latest university apparel. Featuring sections for tech, art, textbooks and merchandise, there are plenty of options to showcase yourThunderbird spirit.
The store is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information visit the store’s website and Instagram account.
