SUU Outdoors will continue free outdoor activities the next few weeks

SUU Outdoors has been offering local events, activities and programming (LEAP) since the beginning of the semester. The activities take place Monday through Friday from 6-8 p.m. each night, and they are free to attend for any SUU student.

The activities change weekly depending on weather conditions and equipment availability. Some of the activities include mountain biking, yoga, disc golf and even short hikes.

LEAP also offers clinics for fire making and other outdoor skills, along with cookouts and interactive presentations. There is no registration or RSVP required for LEAP events.

Besides LEAP, SUU Outdoors holds a variety of larger trips that students can attend throughout the year. Some of these trips include overnight backpacking, rock climbing or further distance hikes.

These trips may require waivers, more equipment and a possible fee to attend, but they are available to any students who would like to experience some of the local wonders near SUU’s campus.

SUU Outdoors announces their LEAP activities, along with meeting times and locations, each week on their Instagram. Equipment rentals and more are available in the Sharwan Smith Student Center.
