The 15th annual Red Rocks Improv Festival took place at Off the Cuff Comedy Improvisation on Thursday, Sept. 18, through Saturday, Sept. 20, from 8-11 p.m. The three-night event featured over 20 comedy groups from around the country.
Single-night tickets were $10 each, or attendees could purchase tickets for all three nights for $25 each.
The improv festival takes place once a year in Cedar City, Utah and each comedy group is given about 20 minutes of stage time to entertain the audience.
The first act of Friday night’s show was OTC comedy, Cedar City’s local comedy group, and they filled their hometown crowd with laughter.
“This is my second time coming to the improv festival, and it was really great to have fun with people and laugh,” said an attendee, Tate Ralphs. “It has definitely been a much bigger crowd this year.”
The OTC comedy theater’s seats were filled with those coming to support and see each comedy group.
While the Red Rocks Improv Festival has come to a close for this year, OTC comedy still holds weekly shows every Friday night at 8 p.m.
Like the festival, tickets are $10 each, but OTC comedy holds small competitions each week for the opportunity to win free tickets, they also offer a loyalty program to earn points for discounted tickets, concessions and more.
OTC comedy has become a community staple since its upbringing in 2004.
“What’s great is that you can expect to come to a show and never see the same show twice,” said Rev Mclean, a full-time cast member at OTC comedy. “It’ll be weird, bizarre, completely random, but you will have a good time.”
Tickets can be purchased at the door or online.
