The Student Alumni Association will be hosting this year’s Bristlecone and Beverages on Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 5-8 p.m. This event is part of Southern Utah University’s Tradition Keeper program.
Bristlecone and Beverages gives students the opportunity to enjoy some of Southern Utah’s scenery while taking a quick hike. The event is free to attend and includes a beverage for each attendee.
The Bristlecone Pine trail is a 30-minute drive up Cedar Mountain, and the loop is about a one-mile round trip, making it suitable for any level of hiker.
The trail features a variety of natural monuments.
“It is an easy trail that is great for families from late spring to fall,” according to Visit Cedar City. “Enjoy views of Zion National Park from an observation deck as you wander among a grove of ancient Bristlecone Pines.”
This time of year will be a great time to enjoy Bristlecone and Beverages during Utah’s last few weeks of warm weather.
Shuttles will be available at 5 p.m. in the Hunter Alumni Center parking lot to take students to and from the Bristlecone Pine Trailhead. Students are also welcome to drive themselves.
For more information or the trail’s location, visit the SUU Event Calendar, and keep an eye out for more tradition keeping opportunities on the SAA’s website or the Tradition Keeper Instagram.
