As we near the end of the 2025 regular season, the Southern Utah University women’s gymnastics team will host Boise State University on Friday, Mar. 7, at 6:30 p.m. for senior night in the America First Event Center.
Southern Utah
Coming off two conference wins, Southern Utah is 11-4 on the year and 4-0 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. The Flippin’ Birds also rank No. 21 in the nation with a National Qualifying Score of 196.205.
Southern Utah has dominated conference play. The Flippin’ Birds have a win margin of 2.018 per meet in the MPSF.
SUU is coming off their best meet of the season, landing a 196.650 against the University of California, Davis on Mar. 2. Niya Randolph put up a season-high 39.450, earning first in the all-around.
Randolph has finished first in the all-around in three different meets and earned MPSF Gymnast of the Week. Freshman gymnast Mia Hampton earned MPSF Freshman of the Week for the sixth time this season for her performance against UC Davis.
Boise State
The Broncos are peaking at the right time, as conference tournaments are right around the corner. Boise State is 12-4-1 on the year and has been named Mountain West regular season champions. BSU holds a 5-1 record in conference play.
Boise State currently ranks No. 29 in the nation, with an NQS of 195.845 and an average of 195.542. This will be the first of two meetings against Southern Utah. The Broncos will host SUU on Mar. 14 for the season finale.
Four different Broncos received Mountain West awards for their recent performance. Emily Lopez earned Specialist of the Week for her performance on the uneven bars against Air Force University on Feb. 28, landing an impressive 9.950.
Freshman Kristiana Shchennikova found success on both the beam and the bars. Shchennikova landed a 9.900 on both rotations, earning Freshman of the Week.
