SUU Leavitt Center hosts Puzzles and Politics presentation

The Michael O. Leavitt Center for Politics and Public Service hosted “Puzzles and Politics” on Thursday, Feb. 13. This event included friendly competition accompanied by political learning, games and drinks.

The Leavitt Center holds activities like this one weekly. All events include apolitical discussion  and refreshments. For this event, attendees broke into groups to compete in games like charades and scattergories, using students’ knowledge on different Constitutional Amendments.

Brett Hedges, graphic designer for the Leavitt Center, has hosted multiple political events like this one, where he has found a way to incorporate politics into the University.

“For me, it’s figuring out a way to have a fun activity that ties into relative politics,” said Hedges.

One of the goals at the Leavitt Center is to teach students how to navigate the political aspects of life. These events are a way for students to get involved and learn, while still having fun.

“It is important to bridge the gap between politics and the university,” Hedges added.

The Leavitt Center provides frequent opportunities for students to attend events, including a Pizza and Politics discussion every Wednesday at noon. More information on the center and upcoming events can be found on the SUU Website or students can visit in person in ST 112.
