The Southern Utah University women’s golf team competed in the University of Wyoming Cowgirl Classic April 3-4, in Maricopa, Arizona, at the AK-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club. The Thunderbirds finished No. 20 out of 21 teams with a final score of +73.

— Sacramento State University finished in first place with a -4.
— Long Beach State University finished at -1, good for second place.
— Boise State University, New Mexico State University and San Diego State University all tied for third with a +13.
Top individuals
— New Mexico State’s Emma Bunch finished No. 1 with a -9.
— Boise State’s Leia Chung finished second with a -6.
— Long Beach State’s Janae Leovao finished third with a -4.
Thunderbird performances
— Tanyatorn (Excel) Thalangkarn finished tied for No. 36 with a +7.
— Anais Guibal finished tied for No. 98 with a +21.
— Cornelia Karlsson finished tied for No. 104 with a +25.
— Reece Bandemer finished tied for No. 106 with a +26.
— Tijana Kovacic finished tied for No. 112 with a +30.
What’s next?
Southern Utah will compete in the Western Athletic Conference Championship from Friday, April 19, through Sunday, April 21. The match will take place in Payson, Arizona, at The Golf Club at Chaparral Pines.
