Gov. Cox and President Biden agree that politics is too bitter

Governors across the United States joined with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for the National Governors Association Winter Meeting at the White House. Amidst dinner and a performance by Trisha Yearwood, the political leaders discussed important topics relevant in the nation today.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox, in agreement with President Biden and Colorado Gov. Jared Polis about the bitter nature of politics, has called for more bipartisanship. Cox is passionate about eliminating toxic polarization and has made a goal for Americans to work together instead of against each other.

Given the political turmoil that America faces, an initiative installed by Cox called Disagree Better, which was launched early last August, urges the leaders of America to model a more positive way of working through policy problems and to lead by example.

Biden and Cox agreed that there was a time that people from opposite parties could work together and not cause any political tension.

Biden is making progress to close the gap in the political parties. He ended the meeting by stating, “Nothing is beyond our capacity if we work together. So let’s keep working together because you, the governors, are the best hope we have.”
