Parsa Fallah, Southern Utah University men’s basketball starting center, announced via Instagram on Monday, March 11, that he will be entering the transfer portal.
Fallah was a member of the 2022-23 team that made it to the Western Athletic Conference championship game. He averaged 3.6 points and two rebounds in just under eight minutes per night for that season.
This season he emerged as a top-scoring option for the Thunderbirds. He scored a career-best 29 points on Dec. 9 against Idaho State University and had a personal-best 15 rebounds against Utah Tech University on Jan. 1.
Fallah suffered multiple injuries throughout the season, limiting him to 25 of the team’s 31 games. He started every game he played, averaging 13.2 points, six rebounds and 1.6 assists. His 57% shooting from the floor ranked No. 37 in Division l.
“I have decided to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal in pursuit of new opportunities, both athletically and personally. It’s a bittersweet decision, but I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead,” Fallah said in his post. “Thank you, Southern Utah, for being more than just a community to me. You’ve been a family, and I will always cherish the moments we shared. Your support has been a driving force, and I am eternally grateful for the chance you gave me to change my life.”
Fallah can officially enter the transfer portal on Monday, March 18.
