SUU Outdoors will host a Valentine’s Day holiday climb

SUU Outdoors will be hosting a Valentine’s Day-themed climb on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the climbing wall in the J. L. Sorenson Physical Education Building. Students are invited to bring a date or come solo anytime from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

“The Valentine’s Climb is an event we put on for people who want a fun date idea to come to or for people who are single and just want to hang out with friends for the night,” explained Baylee Jenkins, an outdoors coordinator.

Since students don’t need to have a Valentine’s date to go to the event, this could be a chance to make new friends.

“We’re doing [this event] so people can get out and meet people,” said Grace Schmidt, an employee for SUU Outdoors. “Come find a date if you don’t have one!”

There will be treats and prizes for those who attend.

“You don’t even have to know how to climb,” Schmidt explained. “Anybody can pull up and have fun!”

If you happen to miss this event, there are others you can attend throughout the remainder of this semester. If you have any questions, you can visit the SUU Outdoors Basecamp located in the Sharwan Smith Student Center or view their schedule of events online.
