This week, Southern Utah University men’s golf placed 17th out of 17 teams at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate match in Palm Desert, California.
The Thunderbirds struggled in their first match since October, finishing +33.

— No. 1: California State University, Fullerton at -16.
— No. 2: Grand Canyon University at -15.
— No. 3: Oral Roberts University at -11.
Top individuals
— No. 1: Tegan Andrews from CSU Fullerton at -10.
— No. 2: Nicky Kling from GCU at -8.
— No. 3: Kevin An from ORU at -5.
Thunderbird performances
— Sophomore Colton Cherry tied for 20th at even par.
— Leo Torres finished tied for No. 66 at +8.
— Senior Mitchell Abbott tallied a +13, good for No. 81.
— Junior Rashon Williams finished at No. 90 with a +15.
— Freshman Charlie Gillespie totaled a +21, landing at No. 98.
— Donovan Barnes rounded out the SUU lineup at No. 100 with a +26.
What’s next?
The Thunderbirds will participate at the Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder City, Nevada, starting Friday, March 8.
