Human remains discovered in rural Iron County

Last week, the Iron County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the discovery of human remains found in Beryl, Utah. An investigation into how the person died is underway.

According to the Sheriff’s office, they were called to a remote area of 8600 West 4800 North in Beryl, where possible human remains were discovered. After arrival, detectives determined the remains to be human.

Investigators say the body was unable to be immediately identified due to exposure to elements. The body appeared to belong to an adult male believed to be around six feet tall and with long black and gray hair.

The body has been transported to the medical examiner’s office for further evaluation and identification. Detectives say no foul play is suspected and there is no threat to the public.

This investigation is ongoing.
