A Washington County woman was sentenced to 25-years-to-life for filming the sexual assault of a toddler. Alexandria Marie Wright of Moapa, Nev., was sentenced on Jan. 28 on one count of production of child pornography and one count of conspiracy to produce child pornography, which she pleaded guilty to in June 2025. Wright was also sentenced in federal court to an additional 300 months in jail.
Wright recorded the videos and then distributed them to Martin Brandon Gillen, with whom she was in a relationship. They began exchanging sexual media with each other before meeting in Washington County in the fall of 2021, where they discussed the sexual abuse of a child that Wright had access to.
On Halloween 2021, Wright brought a four-year-old child whom she knew to a remote location where she and Gillen both sexually abused the child for the purpose of recording it.
“These unthinkable acts will not go unanswered,” said U.S. Attorney Melissa Holyoak of the District of Utah. “Child predators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It is our hope that the victim and the victim’s family can move forward knowing justice is served against Wright and that she is removed from society and away from preying on other children.”
The abuse was discovered when Gillen was arrested in Wichita, Kan., on an unrelated kidnapping charge. He began an online relationship with a 17-year-old girl from Illinois in 2021, and in March 2024, he took her from Illinois to Kansas, sexually assaulting her multiple times.
Gillen was sentenced to life in prison for the kidnapping, plus 95 years for five other charges, four of which involve the sexual abuse footage from Washington County.
Wright reportedly told police she was involved with the creation of the videos but only because Gillen “blackmailed her by threatening to release sexually explicit videos.”
Wright will be transported to the Utah State Penitentiary to serve the 25-year-to-life sentence. If she is released from the state prison, she will then serve 25 years in federal prison.
