The 2025 Iron County Fair comes to a close

Iron County hosted their annual fair and carnival at the Parowan fairgrounds on Aug. 29-Sept. 1, 2025. This Labor Day tradition provided a variety of events and attractions for all of Southern Utah.

Friday and Saturday night featured one of the area’s largest rodeos. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association competed each night for sold out stands.

Besides the rodeo, the fair presented a large carnival with several rides and games for all ages. The night featured loud crowds and fun prizes.

For those not fans of fast-spinning rides, vendors serving food and selling goods lined the entire fairgrounds. There was a large selection of eats and merchandise  for anyone who attended.

“Iron County Fair is awesome this year. So even though the weather was hot, we walked around for two hours enjoying the booths, square-dancing presentations and munching King Ralph’s Kettle Corn,” said Pat Cummings, a fair attendee..

Three out of the four nights, the fair hosted live, local entertainment by multiple bands.

“We like that this event is local because we usually travel when we perform,” explained Leslie Adams, fiddle player of Friday night’s entertainment, the Most Wanted band. “It’s fun playing for a local crowd and getting to connect with people we know.

Even when the rodeo was over and the fireworks concluded, the party continued in the entertainment tent with dancing and live music.

The Iron County Fair is one of the annual staples of Cedar City. Being only a 20-minute drive away, it is the perfect opportunity for Southern Utah University students to take a break and get away after their first week of the semester.

For more information on the fair and other activities hosted by Iron County, visit the Iron County Fair website. Although the 2025 fair has come to a close, students and other southern Utah residents can look forward to more local events and next year’s Iron County Fair.
