School is back in full swing for high schools and universities alike. Southern Utah University is hosting the SUU High School Honor Orchestra Concert on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019 in the Heritage Center Theater at 4 p.m. This concert is free and open to the public.
Dr. Xun Sun, Director of Orchestral Activities at SUU, says, “The Music Department will host the third annual SUU High School Orchestra. The program has been very successful in helping high school orchestra students grow and succeed. This year we will have a guest Master-Conductor Dr. Robert Baldwin, Director of Orchestral Activities at the University of Utah.”
Dr. Lawrence Johnson, Chair of the Department of Music at SUU, shares “The SUU Music Department is always excited to be working with extremely talented high school musicians who participate in the annual Honor Orchestra. To see their youthful enthusiasm while playing in an orchestra with other like-minded students spurs us at the collegiate level to further share our knowledge and expertise with them to ensure a lasting legacy of the arts, both as performers and appreciators.” Experience the excitement of teamwork at the SUU High School Orchestra Concert.
